Most losing teams weren't badly built. They were rushed. Run through this list before every lineup lock and you'll stop making the same mistake twice.

Not the probable XI from yesterday's preview. The actual toss-time XI. A single surprise omission can sink a team built on assumption.
Toss result and batting/bowling decision checked
Chasing teams and defending teams get different value from top-order batters versus death bowlers. Toss changes the math, not just the mood.
Role balance across all 4 categories
Minimum 1 wicketkeeper, 3-5 batters, 1-3 all-rounders, 3-5 bowlers depending on your app's rules. Check the count, not just the names.
Captain has a clear route to points
Batting position, bowling overs, or both. If your captain might not bat until over 15 or might not bowl at all, that 2x multiplier is a gamble, not a plan.
Vice-captain is a different type of risk
Don't pick a VC with the exact same failure mode as your captain. If both are top-order batters, one bad powerplay wipes out both multipliers.
Budget/credits fully used
Leftover credits sitting unused usually means a weaker bench player took a stronger one's spot. Check if you can upgrade before locking.
Overseas player quota respected
IPL and most league formats cap overseas picks. Recheck the count — this is an easy mistake when swapping players late.
Weather and pitch report reviewed
Rain-shortened matches change bowling value. Dry, cracked pitches favor spinners. Check conditions, not just team news.
Contest size matches your confidence
High conviction on a clear matchup? Small league. Genuinely unsure about 3+ slots? Lower your entry size or use a practice room first.
Entry amount is money you can lose without stress
